A new solution for negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) in hospitalized or immobilized patients
Woundprep® is a sterile tubing set that is designed to utilize wall suction/central suction whenever NPWT is required for hospitalized patients.
Woundprep® requires a source of negative pressure ( suction ) which can be regulated between 75 to 150mm Hg strength. The source of suction should also contain a disposable canister for monitoring purposes and to prevent fluids from entering the central suction system.
Woundprep® is to be used with other primary dressings such as sterile foam or gauze and after being sealed off airtightly by film dressings is connected to a controlled amount of suction prescribed by the registered wound care provider.
Woundprep® then allows easy disconnection and reconnection should the immobilized patient need to go for special investigations. Woundprep® has a self-sealing valve that prevents fluids from running back to the wound.
Warning: Never place Woundprep® directly in contact with the patient or with the wound surface. Never use Woundprep® or any type of NPWT on actively bleeding wounds.
This video is intended for clinicians who have experience with the treatment of complicated wounds and the application of NPWT. Please read the Instructions Manual found in the Woundprep® box before using it on patients.
